As our new Director you will harness the power of relationships, both externally and internally, to deliver our strategic priorities for the city and ensure outstanding infrastructure is in place to support progress. With responsibility for leading significant regeneration schemes, economic growth, sustainable transport, infrastructure, and planning you will also advise on our significant portfolio of property and assets.

Role profile
To succeed in this role, you’ll be a strategic thinker and motivational leader, adept at creating a collaborative culture and cultivating internal and external partnerships, acting as an ambassador for the council and for the city.
As the Director of Economy, Planning and Transport you will ensure effective delivery of our strategies and major schemes, with a specific focus on economic growth, infrastructure, transport, planning and regeneration, ensuring we both achieve our priorities for the city and meet our statutory obligations. Working with other directors and as a member of the Corporate Leadership Team, you’ll support the Chief Executive in the overall management of the council, and will provide clear and timely strategic and operational advice to a range of stakeholders.
